Part of the Engineering in Action series, this title uses an attention-grabbing design to draw in readers for a concise glimpse at the basics of flight and what aerospace engineers do. The initial sections are about the history of flight, including information about how engineers use flight dynamics for their designs. The following sections lead readers through the design process from brainstorming to the actual aircraft testing. Two simple activities are included. The overall format is both the book's strength and weakness. The pages are designed to look as if they are sheets of information, sticky notes, photos, and diagrams posted upon a bulletin board creative, though the narrative does become jumbled at times.
