Annie Shirack loves David Plank, but he is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma and refuses to let her into his life for fear of hurting her. The bakery where Annie works is held up by a man, Logan, who ends up in jail. Yet Annie welcomes Logan's homeless, pregnant girlfriend, Charisma, into her home when they arrive in Bliss Creek not long after. VERDICT This second series installment (after To Love and Cherish) offers two character-driven stories in one homespun novel. A good pick for those who enjoy the Amish fiction of Linda Byler.
