For William Shakespeare, all the world was a stage. Now the third (and final) season of Shakespeare Uncovered gives viewers a backstage pass into the inner workings of six of the Bard's greatest hits: Measure for Measure, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter's Tale, Julius Caesar, and Richard III. Award-winning actors-Romola Garai, F. Murray Abraham, Helen Hunt, Simon Russell Beale, Brian Cox, and Sir Antony Sher-each host a different episode dedicated to a single play and offer insight into the characters and how they approached a particular role. This is effectively combined with snippets from other famous performances of the individual works as well as interviews with other actors, directors, and theatrical scholars, all of whom help provide details and context about the political, cultural, and historical factors that shaped the plays we view today.
