Booklist Review
It is a business proposal, not a marriage proposal. At least that's what seamstress Nora Underhill tells herself to summon up the courage to propose to Simon Wallin. By marrying Nora, Simon will be able to claim 160 acres of prime Washington farmland that his family desperately needs. In exchange, Nora will gain a husband, who can keep Nora's controlling brother and his overbearing wife from dragging her back home to Massachusetts to act as their unpaid cook and maid. When her brother and his wife unexpectedly show up in Seattle, however, Nora realizes a marriage in name only to Simon might not be enough. This leaves Nora with only one option: she and Simon will have to start living together as husband and wife for real. Scott (Instant Frontier Family, 2016) continues her Frontier Bachelors series with another sweetly captivating romance that also beautifully celebrates the importance of faith and family.--Charles, John Copyright 2016 Booklist
Library Journal Review
Proposing to a man was the last thing quiet seamstress Nora Underhill ever thought she'd do. Yet when she learns that her greedy brother and his spoiled, demanding wife are moving to Seattle, she sees her hard-won independence vanishing and strikes a desperate bargain with upstanding Simon Wallin-her 160-acre land grant for his protection in marriage. It's the perfect answer to both their problems, and, naturally, their pragmatic marriage could never become real. Never. Delightful family inter-actions (a crew of rowdy brothers are memorable), admirable protagonists who come into their own, and descriptions that bring the colorful historical Northwest to life combine in a well-paced story that saves a twist or two for the end. VERDICT Tender yet laced with humor, this well-researched, faith-suffused Christmas romance should please both inspirational and sweet historical fans; a worthy addition to this popular series.
