Gigi D.G. is a comic artist from southern California who occasionally does concept work for animation and video games. She started creating Cucumber Quest in 2011, and it is her first published work.

Horn Book Review

Heroes and villains convene in the Flower Kingdom, where the lack of royalty to fulfill a legend complicates the quest to defeat the Nightmare Knight. More backstory emerges, lending pathos to the lighthearted graphic-novel series. The vibrantly colored digital illustrations shine, particularly in minion Rosemaster's Art Nouveauinspired scenes. Abrupt shifts in location nevertheless create a sense of simultaneity for the myriad story lines in the series. (c) Copyright 2019.
