Booklist Review

Six tales from the mean streets of Gotham serve up the usual rip-roaring action. Besides coping with the returns of Scarface and, renewed, the Ventriloquist, the Caped Crusader collaborates with a reformed Riddler to solve a murder, and he and Robin stop a terrorist hell-bent on bringing down Wayne Tower. Two stories stand out. One, Kind of Like Family, features fan favorite Harley Quinn (see Harley and Ivy, 2007), sassy as ever. The other is a two-parter, Trust, that affords the double added bonus of featuring Batman's number-one baddie, the Joker, and a guest appearance by Zatarra. Stuart Moore's art, though hardly groundbreaking, is slick with good movement, and he captures characters' expressions well. Dini's storytelling is well paced, with just enough darkness to remind us we're in Gotham but not so much as to scare off newcomers (logically, there must be some) to the characters.
