Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

Gr 3-5-These basic, accurate overviews feature interesting and relevant facts about the individuals' lives while clearly relating their contributions to American history. On each spread, a paragraph of text in a large, widely spaced font faces a large, relevant illustration. The backgrounds and most of the pictures are in attractive full color. Sacagawea includes a name-pronunciation guide and an interesting postscript about the Shoshone woman and her family. These titles will be good for children just getting into biographies as well as older students whose skills aren't as strong as most books for their grade level demand.-Andrew Medlar, Chicago Public Library, IL (c) Copyright 2010.
