Abstract:
"This new edition comes alongside of rather than replaces the first edition. It furthers AALL's core purpose and organizational values to advance the profession of law librarianship and continues to archive the history of ethnic diversity and document the contributions of minority law librarians to AALL and the profession. The profiles are arranged in four parts. Part I, "Legacy of Leadership," includes profiles of the leading pioneers among minority law librarians in AALL. Part II, "The Enduring Legacy: Leaders and Mentors" highlights veteran leaders who demonstrate a record of sustained leadership in the profession and contribute to AALL and the professional development of newer law librarians. Part III, "Leaders of Today," includes profiles of a select number of current minority law librarians that have been in the profession ten or more years and have taken an active leadership role in AALL. Finally, Part IV, "Leaders of Tomorrow" features newer law librarians with less than ten years of experience who are becoming active in AALL, and reflects their unique experiences and perspectives on diversity in AALL and the profession. The authors will also provide a "snapshot" of the status of our diverse membership and the needs of diverse members in AALL, and compare the data from the same survey given ten years earlier"--Publisher.
