School Library Journal Review
K-Gr 2Boris, Norris, Doris, and Morris continue to be good friends and perfectly ridiculous characters in this second book about the Know-Nothings. Boris's birthday is getting closer and, afraid that his friends will forget, he leaves numerous hints. Confusion and funny escapades follow, ending in a party that surprises Boris right in the middle of a party he is giving himself. Spirn's lighthearted story combines perfectly with Alley's comic illustrations. A nameless dog prompts out-loud laughter from readers in nearly every illustration, as he frowns at the birthday sign posted on his tail or holds on for dear life as he spins round and round in a revolving door. The easy-to-read text and silly pictures will captivate youngsters.Suzanne Hawley, Laurel Oak Elementary School, Naples, FL (c) Copyright 2010. Horn Book Review
In three short chapters, best friends Boris, Morris, Doris, and Norris have a series of silly adventures as they try to celebrate Boris's birthday. Slapstick humor, charmingly clueless characters, and lively pen and ink and watercolor illustrations make for a beginning reader with lots of child appeal. A sequel to 'The Know-Nothings'.
